In this case it would probably be better to file a support ticket with SAP directly. From the description of the sp_helptext (here) I assume they might be using the sp to check the definition of the object they are calling (maybe to see if they where not tampered with or to dynamically build the call).
Anyway that is an assumption. I'm sure SAP will explain why it gets called so heavily and if it is considered a bug they will intervene and fix it.
Please share the answer as soon as you know more.
